The Oak Ridges Trail Association (ORTA) is a volunteer-based charitable hiking organization with a mandate to build and maintain a public hiking trail system on the Oak Ridges Moraine, off-road where possible. Additionally, our mandate charges us with the responsibility of protecting the integrity of the moraine through trail development, maintenance, and increased awareness.
The Oak Ridges Trail stretches along the Oak Ridges Moraine from Albion Hills in the west to the Northumberland Forest in the east.
Are hiking and outdoor activities along the Oak Ridges moraine important to you? Do you have leadership experience? Do you want to contribute and volunteer in the President role?
Specific Responsibilities:

Chair Board and annual general member meetings in an effective and efficient manner (bi-monthly Board meetings, monthly Executive Committee meetings and AGM)

Create purposeful agendas in collaboration with the executive committee

Serve as the main contact for Board matters

Set goals and objectives with the Board and ensure they are met

Effectively bring out the best in others to move the Association forward throughout their term

Be an ambassador for the Association by working with the communities along the moraine

Actively recruit to fill Board vacancies and mentor new Board members

Ensure the Association is running smoothly and keeps the Board informed

Provide updates to the membership through the quarterly newsletters and annual general meetings
We are looking for interested and committed Board Members to work with us to help bring a low-cost, Spay/Neuter Clinic to Durham Region.
Community board member * effective governance of the organization which provides Family Support (supports, resources, connections with other families and other types of assistance)

FOOTPRINTS 4 Autism is a nonprofit registered charity serving Durham Region. We offer respite and recreational programs for families with children and youth on the autism spectrum. We are currently growing from a Steering Committee to a Governance Board, and looking for new members to join our Board.
We need Board members in the following areas: Marketing, Communications, Fund Development, Finance and Secretary. For a 2-year commitment.
Board meetings are held once-a-month in Whitby. We have a virtual option as well. Members can choose roles in Marketing & Communications, Fund Development, Finance, Human Resources and ad-hoc Project sub-committees.
These roles can be rewarding to anyone from lawyers, insurance agents, marketing and advertising to accountants, fundraisers, administration, and community minded people, to name a few.

VOLUNTEER BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Community Living Oshawa/Clarington is an accredited, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the achievement of personal outcomes for people with developmental disabilities. We are currently accepting applications and nominations for members of the Board of Directors and committees of the Board.
PURPOSE:
To guide the organization, in partnership with the Executive Director and Senior Management Team, through the implementation of the organizational strategic plan.
ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend monthly Board meetings
- Participate on one other standing committee of the Board
- Support and attend agency events when possible
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

- Law and/or community policing

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Board or committee experience
- Understanding of Roberts Rules of Order

TIME COMMITMENT: 4 – 10 hours per month
LOCATION: 39 Wellington Ave. East, Oshawa - (Event locations may vary and virtual attendance is optional)
